Physical Examination • Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, under the arms or in the groin. • Swelling in the area of the tonsils, throat or upper airway. • Fluid around the lungs (pleural effusion). • Liver or spleen enlargement. • Abdominal mass. • Soft tissue swelling. • Tenderness when pressure is applied to areas of the skeleton. • Neurologic findings such as numbness or muscle weakness. Blood and Other Tests • Complete blood count may show circulating lymphoma cells or other blood abnormalities because of lymphoma in the bone marrow . • Blood chemistries may be abnormal because of the tumor or because of the involvement of bone, lungs, the liver or the kidneys. • HIV test.
